Knowledge Management and Case-Based Reasoning: A Perfect Match?
نویسنده
چکیده
This paper demonstrates that case-based reasoning is ideally suited to the creation of knowledge management systems. This is because of the close match between the activities of the CBR-cycle and the requirements of a knowledge management system. The nature of knowledge within an organisation is briefly discussed and the paper illustrates the dynamic relationship between data, information and knowledge, showing how case-based reasoning can be used to help the manage the acquisition and reuse of knowledge.

Structural Case-Based Reasoning and Ontology-Based Knowledge Management: A Perfect Match?
This article addresses the relations between ontology-based knowledge management implemented by logic-oriented knowledge representation/retrieval approaches and knowledge management using case-based reasoning. We argue that knowledge management with CBR does not only very much resemble but indeed is a kind of ontology-based knowledge management since it is based on closely related ideas and a s...

Imagine you have traveled to an unfamiliar city. Before you start your daily tour around the city, you need to know a good route. In Network Theory (NT), this is the traveling salesman problem (TSP). A dynamic programming algorithm is often used for solving this problem. However, when the road network of the city is very complicated and dense, which is usually the case, it will take too long fo...
متن کاملKnowledge management in case-based reasoning
This commentary describes two core knowledge management approaches that applied case-based reasoning as a methodological foundation for organizational systems managing experience. These research projects illustrate the presence of knowledge management in case-based reasoning by focusing on the dualism between case-based reasoning and organizational approaches targeting knowledge management goals.

متن کاملKnowledge-Intensive Case-Based Reasoning and Sustained Learning
In case-based reasoning (CBR) a problem is solved by matching the problem description to a previously solved case, using the past solution in solving the new problem. A case-based reasoner learns after each problem solving session by retaining relevant information from a problem just solved, making the new experience available for future problem solving. Crucial steps in a CBR process include f...
